Narrator: Kim is at a bookshop. She's talking to the shop assistant. Shop assistant: Hello, can I help you? Kim: Yes, I want to buy a book. Shop assistant: Good! Do you like comic books? Kim: Yes, I do. I really like comic books. They're funny. Shop assistant: Do you like information books, too? Kim: Yes, I like information books about science and dinosaurs.

Grandma and Grandad grab some green grapes at the greengrocer's.

1.Narrator: Danny and his mum are on holiday in London. He's buying a present for his friend Eric. Mum is buying postcards.

Seller: That's ten pounds.

Mum: I like this London bus.

2.Narrator: Danny sees a poster. His favourite author is giving a talk today.

Danny: Can we go to the bookshop, please? Mum: Ok!

3.Narrator: Danny doesn't know where Oxford Street is. He asks a woman for directions.

Danny: Excuse me, where's Oxford Street? Woman: Go straight on along this street, turn right, then turn left. It's not far.

4.Narrator: A strange man runs past and gives Danny a bag.

Thief: Here, take this!

Shop assistant: What about a joke book? We've got lots of joke books. Kim: No, thank you, I hate joke books. I prefer books with stories. Shop assistant: What about a novel? Do you like novels? Kim: Yes, I love novels. Have you got a novel about detectives? Shop assistant: Yes, I have. Look, this is a novel about a girl detective. Kim: Oh, brilliant! Can I have this book, please? shop assistant: Yes, here you are. It's six euros.

Danny: What is it?

5.Narrator: The police are chasing the thief, but they can't see him.

Police officer: Where is he?

Mum: He's turning right!

6.Narrator: Danny and his Mum look in the bag. Danny: It's a computer.

Mum: And here's a name. It's P.J. Downing! Let's take it to the bookshop.

7.P.J. Downing: My new story is on the computer. It's the only copy!

Police officer: We're looking for it now.

Danny: Excuse me, here's your computer. 8.Narrator: P.J. gives Danny signed copies of all her books. What a great day out in London!

Photographer: Hey, Danny! Look this way!
