A COMPARATIVE ESSAY

A comparative essay is a text that compares two or more items that have a relation in terms of their similarities and differences. As any essay, it has an introduction, a body and a conclusion.

Introduction: general statement that presents the main difference or similarity between the two items and provides reasons why.

Body: presents the arguments and analysis of the statement presented in the introductions. Presents the similarities and differences and analyzes them.

Conclusion: summary of the body, presenting a final statement that concludes the analysis.

1. Write a comparative essay. Choose two countries and research about their location, language, geography, history, tourist atractions, customs, food, celebrations, culture or any other item you think might be interesting.
