- Los incendios forestales en Chile son frecuentes en verano, sobre todo en las regiones de Valparaíso, Biobío y La Araucanía, y suelen originarse por negligencias humanas o altas temperaturas.
- Para prevenirlos, se debe evitar encender fogatas en zonas de vegetación seca, no arrojar colillas de cigarro ni vidrios al suelo y respetar las prohibiciones de quemas agrícolas.
- También ayuda mantener limpios los alrededores de las casas, crear cortafuegos y avisar de inmediato a bomberos o CONAF si se detecta humo o fuego.
