Preguntas para practicar

Why do we add -er to short adjectives when comparing two things?

In English, short adjectives form the comparative by adding -er (big → bigger, long → longer). This form is used when we compare two elements and is followed by 'than'. For adjectives ending in a consonant + vowel + consonant, the final consonant is doubled (big → bigger).
