Lesson 1 Production: Daily Routines and Telling the Time

Listen and say the chant. (Escucha y di la rima.)

1. Se lee la rima en voz alta marcando el ritmo.
2. Traducción de apoyo: «Normalmente me levanto a las ocho menos cuarto, nunca llego tarde al colegio. A veces tengo Ciencias a las diez y cuarto, ¡Ciencias es muy divertida! Almuerzo a la una y luego juego con mis amigos. Termino el colegio a las cinco menos cuarto y después vuelvo a casa».
3. Expresiones de tiempo: quarter to eight = 7:45; quarter past ten = 10:15; one o'clock = 1:00; quarter to five = 4:45.

Look and say the times in pairs. (Observa y di las horas en parejas.)

1. Reloj gris claro (arriba izquierda): manecilla corta en 8, larga en 3 → 8:15 → It's quarter past eight.
2. Reloj rojo (arriba centro): corta en 3, larga en 6 → 3:30 → It's half past three.
3. Reloj negro (arriba derecha): corta en 12, larga en 12 → 12:00 → It's twelve o'clock.
4. Reloj rosa (abajo izquierda): corta en 2, larga en 3 → 2:15 → It's quarter past two.
5. Reloj plateado (abajo centro): corta en 7, larga en 6 → 7:30 → It's half past seven.
6. Reloj azul (abajo derecha): corta en 10, larga en 3 → 10:15 → It's quarter past ten.

Ask a classmate and write the answer. (Pregunta a un compañero y escribe la respuesta.)

1. What time do you get up? → I usually get up at quarter past seven. (7:15)
2. What time do you have Science? → I have Science at half past ten. (10:30)
3. What time do you have lunch? → I have lunch at one o'clock. (1:00)
4. What time do you do your homework? → I do my homework at quarter past four. (4:15)
5. What time do you have dinner? → I have dinner at half past eight. (8:30)
6. What time do you go to bed? → I go to bed at ten o'clock. (10:00)
