Teoría: estructura de un e-mail

Un correo electrónico puede ser largo o corto, formal o informal, y se envía a amigos, familiares, profesores o empleadores. Siempre debe incluir cuatro partes:

  1. The subject (asunto): resume el tema. Ejemplo: Friday, Tim's birthday party.
  2. An introduction (introducción): saludo y motivo. Ejemplo: How are you? I'm writing to invite you to my party...
  3. The main information (información principal): cuándo, dónde, a qué hora, tipo de evento y qué llevar. Ejemplo: My birthday party is on Friday...
  4. A closing (cierre): despedida y petición. Ejemplo: Let me know if you want to come.

Preguntas para practicar

Why is the subject important in an e-mail?

The subject is important because it tells the reader what the e-mail is about before opening it. A clear subject helps the person decide if the message is urgent or interesting. For example, 'My birthday party' tells Sue the topic immediately.
