Respuesta orientativa (modelo): Last summer I was at my grandmother's house in the south of Chile. Suddenly, the walls began to move and a loud noise came from the kitchen. I felt very scared, but my grandmother told me to stay calm. We stood under a strong door frame until the shaking stopped. After that, we went outside and checked that everything was fine. That experience taught me to be prepared and to keep calm in an emergency.

Subject: Important information before your visit

Hi Alex,

I am very happy that you are coming to Chile! I want to tell you something important: in my country there are earthquakes and sometimes tsunamis. An earthquake is a sudden movement of the ground, and a tsunami is a big wave that can arrive after a strong earthquake near the coast.

Here are some recommendations to stay safe:

  • You should stay calm and move to a safe place, away from windows and heavy objects.
  • You must follow the instructions of the authorities and never use the elevator during an earthquake.
  • If you are near the beach and feel a strong earthquake, you have to move to high ground immediately.
  • You should always keep an emergency bag with water, a flashlight and a radio.

Don't worry, with these tips you will be safe. I can't wait to see you!

Best wishes, Your friend
