Ideas previas

Antes de comenzar con la sección Language Focus, solicite a los estudiantes a dar ejemplos de oraciones/expresiones/preguntas que puedan construir para hablar en pasado. De esta manera se puede hacer un diagnóstico del nivel de conocimiento del idioma que tienen como grupo y así apuntar a desarrollar más habilidades en los alunmos que tienen mayores fortalezas en el idioma,como también generar instancias de aprendizaje que permitan a los alumnos que presentan mayores dificultades.

Ritmos y estilos de aprendizaje

A medida que se avanza en las actividades presentadas en las diferentes secciones de estas páginas, se recomienda generar el trabajo de pares mezclando alumnos que tienen mayores fortalezas en el idioma junto con otros que presentan una mayor dificultad.

Errores frecuentes

Uno de los errores más frecuentes que presentan los alumnos de este nivel es la transformación del verbo desde su forma base a pasado. Por esto es importante la realización de la actividad 3donde tienen que buscar el pasado de los verbos a trabajar durante esta unidad. Sumado a eso, es importante puntualizar que la forma pasada del verbo be tiene diferentes conjugaciones (was and were). Para evitar errores escriba ejemplos utilizando diferentes sujetos y permita a los estudiantes inferir una secuencia del uso de was y were.

Explique: In past tense of the verb to be some pronouns are accompanied by the past form was (for example I, she, he, it)and the other pronouns (you, we, they)are accompanied by the past form were.

3. Below you can see the base form of many irregular verbs. You can find the past version of those verbs on pages 68 and 69. Write the past tense ofthese verbs (Base Form)in your notebook.

Complete the last part of Nicolás and Fernando's story with the correct form of the verbs from activity 3. Write the correct form of the verbs in parentheses in your notebook.

El propósito de la sección Language Focus es entregar a los estudiantes estructuras y expressiones que les permitan adquirir los conocimientos, y así saber utilizar el idioma de forma correcta, y en este caso, expresar ideas que tienen que ver con eventos sucedidos en el pasado. Para guiar a los estudiantes introduzca el tema diciendo: Today we are going to learn how to express ideas and talk about past events. First, do you know how to say "I'm happy" but in the past? Or "I lose my phone" but in relation to past time? Have you heard about irregular verbs?Well, today, we are going to learn how to use the rules to speak using past simple structures in relation to these verbs.
