Antes de comenzar con el desarrollo de las actividades puede realizar una pequeña dinámica con los estudiantes en la cual tengan que lanzar una pelota suavemente y quien la reciba debe conjugar un verbo en presente, pasado y continuo para realizar una pequeña familia de palabras (take, took, taking). Diga: Today we are going to play a game "The ball-word." You are going to receive a ball and say an "action" for instance: "take". Then your classmate from your left is going to continue telling another action, a word that is related to the previous term, for instance:taking. The purpose of this activity is to find as much 'word-family' as you can and to let everybody participate in the game.

Connectors Use connectors when and while to talk about events happening at the same time or that interrupt something.

2. Read the rules below and choose the correct option. Answer orally.

Propósito y recomendaciones

El propósito de la sección Language Focus es comprender el uso del past continous. Explique a los alumnos que utilizamos este tipo de estructura para relatar acontecimientos que estaban sucediendo en el pasado cuando otra acción aconteció o se llevó a cabo. Explique: The past continuous refers to a continuing action or state that was happening at some point in the past.

Se recomienda, para abordar las diferentes formas de aprendizaje, realizar una pequeña dinámica que ayude a graficar lo explicado. Para esto solicite la ayuda de algunos alumnos y suponga una situación ficticia, por ejemplo: She/he was driving her car when she received a call, un estudiante o incluso el docente pueden actuar la dinámica para que de esta forma el concepto de lo que significa past continuous quede gráficamente explicado.
