Pregunte a los estudiantes:

• What Chilean tourist attractions do you know?

• Where can you go when you're on vacation?

• Where would you like to go?

• What do you know about these places and the people who live there?

Se espera que los estudiantes puedan interesarse en el tema a tratar desde sus experiencias personales, por lo que fomentar la conversación en estas actividades es de suma importancia.Para esto, indique lo siguiente: With your seat partner, discuss the questions on page 35. Think about your personal experiences traveling in Chile, also consider Chile's characteristics and what makes it appealing for foreign tourists.Es necesario poner atención a las conversaciones en pareja para garantizar que todos los estudiantes están participando activamente de la clase, y para prever posibles problemas estructurales y de vocabulario que puedan corregirse posteriormente. Monitoree las conversaciones, haciendo las correcciones necesarias y en algunos casos puede proveer preguntas extra para continuar con la discusión:

• Which places would you like to visit? Why?

Propósito y recomendaciones

Es necesario que los estudiantes sepan cuáles son los elementos a tratar y quéaprenderán durante la unidad. Para eso, se recomienda leer y analizar con ellos el apartado In this unit I will learn to.. ., y prestar especial atención a los conceptos de nationalities, culture y heritage. Pregunte a los estudiantes: What do you understand by nationality /cutlture / heritage? Are these concepts different?

Esto es para evitar confusiones, ya que son conceptos con aspectos en común.Para que quede claro, pregunte: Why do you think these concepts can be confused with each other? Are they similar in some ways?
