Las preguntas 5 y 6 de la actividad previa se enfocan en la metacognición del estudiante. Puede profundizar en esta discusión a través de preguntas de seguimiento como:

• How am I going to prepare to learn this?

Ritmos y estilos de aprendizaje

En caso de que su clase cuente con alumnos con mayores fortalezas en la discusión y otros que casi no participen,puede separar a la clase en grupos pequeños (3-5 personas) o en su defecto,para clases de tamaños pequeños se puede sentar a los alumnos en semicírculo con el profesor al frente. Para la primera opción, dé la siguiente instrucción: Gather in small groups, from 3 to 5 students and discuss. Para la segunda opción, indique lo siguiente: Bring your chairs to the center of the classroom and let's make a semi-circle and discuss. Estas dos modalidades potencian la interacción entre ellos y permiten que más alumnos puedan hablar. Sobretodo la discusión en semicírculo ya que le permite a usted actuar como moderador y hacer preguntas a alumnos que no hayan participado
