Errores frecuentes

Algunos errores frecuentes en pronunciación son:

Afraid: muchos estudiantes pronuncian esta palabra como /a'fraid/ cuando en realidad se pronuncia /a'freid/

Relaxed: muchas veces pronunciado como /re'læksed/ cuando la pronunciación correcta es /rI'lækst/

Annoyed: muchas veces pronunciado como /a'noyed/ (con la y sonando como una“ll"”española) cuando en realidad se pronuncia /a'noid/

Los errores de pronunciación se deben principalmente a la interferencia del idioma nativo, ya que los estudiantes tienden a leer cada letra de la palabra tal como lo hacen en español.

Para corregir, explique lo siguiente: In English, words are not pronounced as they are written, like in Spanish. For example, the words "afraid", relaxed and annoyed. The first one is pronounced /ə'freid/, not /a'fraid/; "relaxed" is pronounced /rI'lækst/, not /re'læksed/and"annoyed"is pronounced/s'noid/instead of /a'noyed/.

Ihave an important math test this week, but my friends say that it is nothing to worry about. The testis on Friday.and it's only Monday! SoI have a loooot of days to study.I am a little worried, but maybe I am overreacting.

Dear Diary,

Ugh! Today was not a good day.

My friend Paulina always bothers me because she wants me to go out with her brother. But I don't like him! He is super mean, and he is not very intelligent. I always tell her that I don't want to go out with him, but she insists every day. I hope that she stops insisting soon.

The math test is only two days away so I am a bit anxious now. I study every day after school, but Iam very tired today so I don't think I can study. I blame Paulina, she insists so much that when I get home I don't want to do anything!I want her to stop talking to me about her brother.
