Profundización y variaciones

Como actividad de profundización, puede realizar un debate entre los estudiantes,con temáticas como las siguientes:

• Use of cellphone in the classroom.

• Technology always has positive consequences.

Puede usar otro tema relacionado a la tecnología y aparatos tecnológicos.

Para organizar el debate, se sugiere que los grupos sean designados, teniendo en cuenta las habilidades de los estudiantes, de manera que cada grupo sea heterogéneo. Explique la actividad diciendo lo siguiente: A debate is a serious discussion in which two groups have different views on a topic and discuss about it. There is a moderator, who organizes the debate and motivates the dialogue.

Ritmos y estilos de aprendizaje

Una de las cosas a las que se debe prestar atención es a las fortalezas y debilidades de los estudiantes en el desarrollo de las cuatro competencias linguísticas dentro de la clase. Una manera de sobrellevar esta diferencia es organizar parejas de estudiantes, considerando sus habilidades, de manera que puedan complementarlas y trabajar mejor. Por ejemplo, en las actividades 3 y 4 de la página 97 del Texto del Estudiante se pueden organizar a las parejas de forma tal que los estudiantes con más fortalezas en la expresión oral que trabajen con estudiantes cuyas habilidades son más bien escritas y pueden desarrollar ideas. Si se opta por hacer debates como actividad de profundización, una opción es designar como moderadores a los estudiantes con más fortalezas en comprensión auditiva. Se les puede pedir a los estudiantes en rol de moderadores que hagan preguntas de seguimiento a sus compañeros: While you moderate the debate, motivate the discussion with more questions to the participants.
