Ideas previas

Para activar conocimientos previos sobre desastres naturales, pregunte y escriba lo siguiente en la pizarra: What natural disasters have happened in your country? Tell us about it. A través de esta actividad, podrá revisar el vocabulario que manejan con respecto a los desastres naturales y qué tan bien manejan la estructura de past simple,ya que inevitablemente se verán en la necesidad de utilizar el tiempo pasado para referirse a eventos anteriores en los cuales experimentaron algún desastre natural.

Profundización y variaciones

Teniendo en cuenta que las actividades 1, 2, 3, 4 y 5 se enfocan en un audio el cual refleja una entrevista,puede pedirles a los estudiantes que desarrollen el mismo formato, tomando como guía el audio que escucharon.Para esto, pídales lo siguiente: Write a news interview and role play it. The interviewer will ask questions about a natural disaster either to an expert or a witness that experienced a natural disaster: Write your interview, check it,practice it and then role play it in front of the class.

While Listening

2. Listen 36 to the radio interview with Tina and choose the headline of the story you hear. Then number the events in the correct order in your notebook.

a. The family went on vacation.

3. Listen 37 to the last part of the interview and choose the option which shows how the story ends. Answer orally and discuss your answer as a class.a. There was no tsunami.

After Listening

4, In pairs, role-play the end of Tina's interview.

Propósito y recomendaciones

En esta actividad se espera que los alumnos sean capaces de identificar en los textos escuchados el propósito e ideas generales del audio, información específica con respecto a los desastres naturales y que sean capaces de relacionar el contenido con sus propias vivencias.

Para asegurar que la mayor cantidad de estudiantes pudo comprender el audio,puede reproducirlo 2 o hasta 3 veces. Para esto, indique lo siguiente: First,listen to the audio and try to understand as many ideas as you can. Then, you'll listen to it for a second time. While you listen to it, try to answer activity 2. If you couldn't finish, I'll play the audio one last time.
