Ejercicio 1

In assembly, self-assess your participation. Use the following guidelines.

Respuesta orientativa: Un estudiante comprometido marcaría Yes en al menos cuatro criterios, por ejemplo: I made proposals for the activities (Yes), My participation was always respectful (Yes), I remembered what I knew about the topic and learned more (Yes), Now, I am more conscious about energy saving (Yes) y I am interested in looking for sustainability projects (Yes).

Ejercicio 2

Read the comments that the guests to your presentation wrote and talk about them. Share your opinions about your self-assessment.

  2. Identifica coincidencias y diferencias entre esos comentarios y tu propia autoevaluación.
  3. Expresa tu opinión en inglés usando estructuras como I agree with…, I think that…, In my opinion….

Respuesta orientativa: I agree with the guests' comments because they said my presentation was clear and well organized. I also think I need to improve my pronunciation and speak louder. Comparing their feedback with my self-assessment helped me see that I am better at researching than at presenting.

3
Ejercicio 3

In your notebook, write about the following topics.

a
Parte 3.a

What you learned.

  2. Redacta oraciones en pasado simple: I learned that…, I discovered that….
  3. Incluye vocabulario del tema: energy saving, sustainability, renewable resources.

Respuesta orientativa: I learned that saving energy at home is easier than I thought. For example, turning off the lights and unplugging devices reduces electricity consumption. I also learned new vocabulary like "sustainability" and "carbon footprint".

b
Parte 3.b

What would you like to learn more about.

  2. Usa la estructura I would like to learn more about….
  3. Justifica brevemente tu elección.

Respuesta orientativa: I would like to learn more about renewable energies, especially solar and wind power, because my community has a lot of sun and I think we could use it to produce clean electricity.

Ejercicio 4

Finally, write in your notebooks the assembly agreements reached by the community to take responsibility and take care of the environment.

  3. Usa verbos en imperativo o con we will… para expresar compromisos.

Respuesta orientativa: Acuerdos posibles: We will turn off the lights when we leave the classroom. We will separate organic and inorganic waste. We will bring reusable bottles instead of plastic ones. We will organize a monthly campaign to plant trees at school.
