Voiced "th" (/ð/)

The voiced "th" sound (found in words like this or brother) is very similar to the voiceless "th", but it involves your vocal cords vibrating.

1. Start by placing your tongue against your upper front teeth, just as you did for the voiceless "th".
2. This time, add voice by allowing your vocal cords to vibrate while you maintain the tongue-to-teeth position.

Practica el sonido voiced /ð/ con las siguientes palabras: this, that, weather, father, mother, leather.

1. Toca tu garganta con la mano: para /ð/ debes sentir vibración.
2. Compara con /θ/ (think, math) que no produce vibración.
3. Repite cada palabra alternando con su par sordo cuando exista.

Pronuncia 'this'.
