After that, she successfully began working as a midwife in Cuernauaca for a year.Howeuer, she neuer gaue up on her dream: She wanted to study Medicine and would return to Mexico City to make her dream come true.

And so she did, but many opposed her achieuement because it was belieued women should not become doctors.Among other arguments, they used to claim it went against the feminine nature of staying at home and caring for children. It was considered immodest to want to dissect or be in contact with sick bodies, especially if they were male.

Yet, she persisted. On August 24, 1887, she took an exam before seueral experts in the field and passed with honors! Of course, a lot of people did not approue of this decision, but many others appreciated and recognized Matilde's work and saw this euent as the beginning of a new era, and they were right!

Matilde passed away in 1938, but her legacy remains.Thanks to her determination and perseuerance, she made history. With her actions, she opened the door for other women's goals and dreams. All of this has resulted in the fact that today you can see women doctors wheneuer you oryour loued ones haue an emergency.

So,now you know! Much of what today is considered normal has behind it a great deal of work, stories of struggle, dreams, and creatiuity.

Do your best to remember this during your eueryday actiuities and remember that making your dreams come true can also open the door for other people,and by doing so, you can change the world.
