CONSONANT CLUSTERS

Consonant clusters are groups of two or more consonant sounds that appear together in a word. In a cluster, these consonant sounds are pronounced one after the other without any vowel sounds in between.

EXAMPLES

"Bl" Cluster: In the word "blue," there is a consonant cluster "bl" because the sounds /b/ and /l/ come together without a vowel in between.

Ejemplo 1

Identificar el cluster en 'blue'.

1. Las letras b y l están juntas al inicio.
2. Suenan /b/ + /l/ sin vocal intermedia.

Respuesta orientativa: Porque en español tendemos a insertar una vocal de apoyo (ej. 'estrong' por 'strong'); los clusters ingleses no la admiten.
